January 18, 201412 yr Hi, Recently I have been getting really bad FPS in flight sim. I just got an extra monitor and i was wondering if this was causing the drop. I have an I7-3770K clocked at 3.5 and a GTX640.
January 18, 201412 yr Yes, running FSX on multiple monitors will generally cause frame rates to drop, especially if you have separate windows open (i.e. not using nvidia surround). January 18, 201412 yr Tweaks are your best friends. I am planning on setting up a 3-screen sim and my 4770k (non-overclocked) already struggles with 2 Full HD monitors in the PMDG 737 NGX and addon scenery, without tweaks of course. With tweaks and using an external framerate limiter it runs quite well so I would suggest you start from there.
