I uninstalled MyTrafficX 5.4c a couple of days ago as I found that it is the cause of my StackHash/NTDLL crashes.  No crashes since removing MyTrafficX but have only flown 4 flights since removal.

 

All of the MyTrafficX files for the USA are named BR2_KIAD.bgl.  File sizes would not change by renaming.

For purchased scenery to work e.g. ... all three must be renamed or moved.

I need to know the files size so I can match a wrong file name (in my backup folder) to the filesize I currently have.

 

Maybe Rob can have a look and do a screenshot of the names.

I have a couple of questions please:

I took a look at the manual just now.

1)Can this addon be used without Virtuali Addon Manager?

It seems to want to mess with my FSX.cfg....which is something I totally do not appriciate!

2)if not, can I choose to only use the Virtuali Addon Manager for the registration key and not do anything else then?

3)Can I choose max 1024x1024 textures during install?

Or is this only selectable via the Virtuali menu (force HD textures off)?

I have KIAD and KPHX .. what ever it needed to do on install I said OK .. it looks perfect.

 

I also have KLAXV2 (FSDreamTeam)  that used Virtuali Addon Manager ... no problems.

Now my 3 KIAD files that I moved to a backup folder have correct file names in case I ever need them later..

 

BTW, if you have other purchased scenery ... same deal, get rid of or rename those  MyTraffic BRxxxxx.bgls files for that airport.

It says 14 degrees Celsius which is about 57 degree F. and 4 degrees Celsius dewpoint is equal to about 39 degrees F.  I live here and it doesn't get that cold in the summer so your weather program may be off a little or needs to be reprogrammed to show the average temps in the Washington DC area!  B)   I just checked my facilities data for my BluePrint KIAD and it shows the same runway ice data as you show.  I do not have MyTrafficX installed and use the default traffic.  Vonmar is correct with his statement but if you put the BluePrint scenery ABOVE MyTrafficX in the Scenery Library, this will trump out MyTraffic's AFCAD's.  That's why I had MyTrafficX located just above Propeller Objects in the Scenery Library.

Yeah I noticed those temps. But didnt worry about it too much.

I have OPUS FSX as weather engine but it was off.

It is off now too, and I still get 14C at 11AM (summer/August 6 2014/FSX Fair Weather theme but also with clear skys).

At 4PM I get 14C at 4PM as well ???

What is up with that??

 

 

So if you use Blueprint and have removed MyTraffic, then those KIAD Ice files are either AFCAD remainders of Mytraffic (which would not be good!) or they are from the Blueprint addon.

 

Maybe someone can take a look at their Airport Facility Info who has neither Mytraffic nor any other Traffic addon, nor a KIAD addon?

You know, I am still poundering over that.....!

 

I have an addon for LOWW for example.

And Mytraffic also has a "BR2_LOWW.BGL" file in its scenery folder.

Everything seems ok in LOWW, not seen any aircraft parked in buildings yet....but maybe I have to look closer.

I allways thought, like Jim said, that things higher up in the scenery library of FSX take priority.

So with that in mind things should be ok.

 

From looking at your attached image, you renamed the Mytaffic files to:

BR2_KIAD.BGL (1).BGL

BR2_KIAD.BGL (2).BGL

BR2_KIAD.BGL (2).BGL

 

so they are still .BGL files, just with a different name.

 

I think Jim was suggesting you rename them to

BR2_KIAD.orig

BR2_KIAD_KA_CVX.orig

etc.

 

So you would be changing the file designator (which is in effect the same as removing it) rather than the file name.

 

In any case, the fact that you have to rename them or remove them at all is strange.

The scenery library should take care of it.

But if I really have to remove .bgl files from the MyTaffic/scenery file.......what if I ever update MyTraffic?

Then I would have to start removing all over again....that just cant be right.

 

 

I will take a closer look at LOWW (and other addons) for anomalies and I will keep your tip in mind if I ever see them. So thx for that

I like to move the files to a backup folder rather tan rename ... last time I renamed look what happened.

 

I would contact the LOWW developer to see what they say ... safer.

This is what I was saying above.  I just removed MyTrafficX from my computer.  I only have the default and the facilities info was from BluePrint.  I had the default weather program running when I looked at the facilties info in Post #10.

It is obvious that your computer can predict the future.  I'll have to remember to wear a sweater and a heavy coat on August 6th when I'm out on the golf course.  :lol:  I'll get ahold of the Weather Channel and tell them to hold off on global warming for this year anyway.  Boy!  Will they be disappointed!
