February 1, 201412 yr Looking for a AF2 file for the KIWA 2011 scenery by Ryan Whitford. The new one in the libary does not line up with the scenery. Tim
February 2, 201412 yr I installed the reference scenery. The author has placed the starting locations normally on the runway placing them on the entry taxiways. Running it places the aircraft of the taxiway before the threshold entry facing perpendicular to the runway. Is this what you are referring to? A search in the AVSIM lib under FS9 Scenery turned up two additional downloads. One is an AF2 update 2014, and then there is one more. I did not check the afcad library. As far as matching background he place an exclusion polygon around an apron polygon underlying the perimeter of the airport boundaries. This will not blend into the default area backround but as many sceneries just appears at a cutout in the full overhead (at least in the overhead view). Here is an ADE overhead of the 30's end: The red circles are the starting locations where on create a flight if you select a runway your aircraft will be placed. In addition not having the starting locations on the runway IMHO would interfere with ai operations. I also noticed in the AF2_file that some generic buildings (hangars for some) are included. Using AFCAD221 would strip these out I believe. RWY 12R/30L does not have any runway markings or proper surface. Compare to the other runways. I did not install the other related files that the search turned up that might correct these errors but if the update authors that are different used AFCAD221 instead of ADE or AFX or other suitable editor you could lose the buildings the original author placed in his AF2_file. ADE is freeware if you wish to take a crack at fixing this file if using the updates does not solve the problem. ADE is here: http://www.airportdesigneditor.co.uk/

AI don't use the starts, those are for user aircraft only. regards, Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
February 2, 201412 yr The original scenery is by Ryan Whitford, but the 2 updated AF2 files are by Robbie Hardy. The problem is that the 2 updated AF2 files are off by 900' too far west of the photo scenery ( or the photo scenery is too far east ) Ryan's original AF2 is ok for position , but the aircraft parking spots aren't connected to the taxiway links. Also there's no airline coding on the parking either. Hopefully this will be sorted as this is a very good scenery. Thanks. Pete.
February 2, 201412 yr To find problems in ADE, Choose Tools/Fault Finder. Here are some examples of what was found in Ryan's AF2 file. Notice the explanation of a caution or outright error in the bottom section: Unless you want to delete the spot don't hit the delete button. Clicking on an item in the fault list takes you to the spot highlighted in a zoomed view. To see existing parking descriptions use in ADE Lists\Parking Double Click on a parking spot in the list to modify properties such as adding airline parking codes. I recommend you do not use the randomize button to redistribute the parking order in the list (think that's what is does.). This view shows scenery object that might be stripped by AFCAD221 if editing this file: Hovering the mouse of the object shows its description. Ryan probably added the object with an editor other than AFCAD or used another editor to begin with. In the readme he gives credit to several authors for library objects. I believe he stated this was his first attempt. Very good in my opinion. Note that in the VIEW options of ADE you have to disable (uncheck) the exclusions item to get to the objects within the exclusion polygons for editing. This does not delete the exclusion from saving in the project and compiling.
February 2, 201412 yr The list of current scheduled airlines is short with Allegiant Air (ICAO code AAY) the only active one according to a flightaware check of arrivals and departures for a few days. http://flightaware.com/live/airport/KIWA Netjets Aviation is a shared aircraft business aviation company (code EJA) unscheduled but with some frequency there. I don't know if there are any ai models and flight plans simulating this. Another of this type is NPU Henderson Executive. I also spotted a Republic Airlines (Code RPA) but it appears to be an anomaly. Spirit Airlines no longer serves this airport. So now you have some parking codes Also in the faults list at the bottom was one open taxiway link, something you should look at. The airport diagram is at: http://flightaware.com/resources/airport/IWA/APD/AIRPORT+DIAGRAM/pdf and you might want the full collection of bundled procedures including the diagram from: http://flightaware.com/resources/airport/KIWA/procedures to assist in flying in and out. The DP and STARS are shared with Phoenix Sky Harbor and several other smaller airports in the vicinity.
February 3, 201412 yr Thanks for the info. I'm currently tweaking the original AF2 and working it in ADE. All the AF2 default buildings are still there and I'm slowly linking the parking spots to the taxiways. According to WoAI there's no airlines listed for KIWA, only GA jets & turboprops. This is an excellent scenery ..... did you know he's got auto vehicles travelling along the highway to the north of the field? Pete.
February 3, 201412 yr There is a WOAI Allegiant Air package here on AVSIM. Open the all packages link, click on the name header and it will sort. http://www.world-of-ai.com/allpackages.php?sort=airline&order=asc and search for Allegiant. http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=180401 should take you to the download. I did a manual install to a temporary folder with the option to decompile the flightplan. I got lots of search hits on KIWA so that pretty much matches what I found for KIWA. Aircraft listed were all jet airliners; AC#1000,230,"WoA_AIG_B757-200W_AAY-Allegiant Air"AC#1001,222,"WoA_AIA_MD_8X_SD_AAY-Allegiant Air MD83"AC#1002,222,"WoA_AIA_MD_8X_SD_AAY-Allegiant Air MD83-2"AC#1003,222,"WoA_AIA_MD_8X_SD_AAY-Allegiant Air Blue Man"AC#1004,222,"WoA_AIA_MD_8X_SD_AAY-Allegiant Air Travel"AC#1005,222,"WoA_AIA_MD_8X_SD_AAY-Allegiant Air MD88"AC#1006,225,"WoA_FAIB_FS9_A320_CFM_AAY-Allegiant Air"AC#1007,225,"WoA_FAIB_FS9_A319_CFM_AAY-Allegiant Air" The schedule was created Oct 2013. Use the auto compile mode setting your FS9 path and it will put in the aircraft folders and the compiled flightplan for you. Just browse to the downloaded zip file for input. If you do not have the installer get that from the WOAI link. The file name to download if you want to find it that way on AVSIM is woa_allegiantair_v2.zip Using a different utility I am attaching in .txt format the KIWA timetable from the downloaded WOAI file; KIWA Allegiant Air Oct 2013 Arrivals and Departures.pdf
February 3, 201412 yr This might be a little help in placing parking codes (AAY) and parking gate names and placement: http://www.phxmesagateway.org/content/marketing/terminalmap.pdf and for flight ideas: http://www.phxmesagateway.org/AirlinesAndDestinations.aspx runway information: http://www.phxmesagateway.org/Content/GAS/Airport%20Data.pdf operational procedures: http://www.phxmesagateway.org/FlyFriendly.aspx
February 3, 201412 yr Author Thank you everyone for your help. I am reworking the AF2 with ADE. Looking a little better now. Tim
