February 4, 201412 yr Is there a direct to waypoint feature on the NGX? What if you realize you missed a waypoint and don't want to fly 100 NM backwards, or simply want to go from the point where you activated the autopilot to the waypoint without going straight to the programmed route, then turning into it? My third issue is, first time ever noticed, but on a climb, I was suddenly at 16000 ft according to my HUD but in reality somewhere around 12000ft, it reset a few minutes later. Patrick Boynton
February 4, 201412 yr regarding waypoints, go to legs page, click the button next to waypoint you want to go to; then click the button next to the one you missed, hit EXEC, and it will delete the missed waypoint. Rob Marton
February 4, 201412 yr To go direct to a waypoint, go to "LEGS" page, Find the waypoint you want to go to (maybe use next page/previous page to find it) Click the 'line select' button next to the waypoint you want to go to (If you went to a different page in step 2, go back to page 1) Select the top left button on the FMC (next to the screen) Check that the waypoint you want to go to is now at the top Press "EXE" The aircraft will now be ready to turn direct to the waypoint at the top of the legs page (and will do this if you have LNAV/VNAV and Autopilot all engaged) You should also use this method to track direct due to ATC instructions, ie "ABC123 track direct to PLACE" This is a common instruction on non-RNAV Departure and Arrival routes. What weather engine do you use? What was the QNH of the area you fly above, transition altitude and your pressure setting? Rostyslav S Wanna fly 737NGX with turbulence?
