February 4, 201412 yr Is this good RAM? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231460 I was expecting and have a budget of $120 for RAM and was kind of surprised that it's that price... 10700k / Gigabyte 3060
February 4, 201412 yr I think it's decent. It's not high end but I'd get it if I was on a budget. Here's an excerpt from the Nick N post about best ram timings DDR3 1600 - 6-6-6 - (6-8-6 best or 7-8-7)DDR3 1800/1866 - 6-8-6 - (7-8-7) DDR3 2000 - 7-7-7 - (8-8-8) Intel 900/970/980 series 'stable' limitDDR3 2133 - 8-8-8 - (9-10-11) Sandy Bridge 'stable' limit, can go slightly higherDDR3 2400 - 9-9-9 (9-11-11) Ivy Bridge and Haswell 'stable' limit, SB-E 'may' run this too but not very easy. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
February 4, 201412 yr If you are looking to build a i7 4770k system for FSX, that is decent ram (as mentioned above), but unless you really need a 1.5v kit it's not the best. For a few dollars more you can get a 2x4GB 2400 cas 10 kit for that i7; just make sure that your mobo can handle it.
