Well this aircraft has that little electrical glitch.  Got a question.  What does this panel do?

  • I did not have the older version on my FS9 install anymore as I fly only VC thesers days. So I am really glad to put this model back in my hangar! This VC is absolutely wonderful!

Mr. Watson I have found the problem with the Tu-134 electric system glitch.  It seems that you have to load the aircraft after opening FS9.  If the aircraft is open after entering FS9 you will get the electric failure.   I have done several test and the conclusion is load the aircraft first before you enter FS9.  Also if you exit the aircraft you must be in the 2d panel to avoid crashing FS9.  This is also true if you go to the start up screen, don't do it.  Exit FS9 completely.  Load FS9 again as always.  Conclusion, always load the aircraft and not a saved point in the simulator.  Happy flying.


In flight this lights comes on and turns off.  Do I need to be concerned?

In the electric panel above number 35 in the picture, there are 4 lights.  The one to the left is always on but the second light next to it turn on in flight, what does that mean?

This panel is temperature/pressurization, you don't need to mind it as there's currently no english information on it. There's another which is the SKV itself... It's well simulated but unfortunately all documents there is on it are old real life flight manuals in Russian from the 70s last time I checked.

I used to have electric switch and I solved it by first loading cessna, not shutting down everything and then loading the Tu-134A-3. It is a bug and there was a fix posted for it, unfortunately the link is now dead and will see if it ever gets uploaded just to save the hassle of the loading...

 

Обогрев стабилизатора light that comes on and off? is just showing that system works normal. You do not need to be concerned as it's not an error.

 

Lights over fuel tank indicates from where fuel is currently flowed from, in the case of the most leftmost switch it is tanks 3. If second light next to it turns on it means fuel is flowing from tank 1... As long as your fuel distribution is set to automatic and you're not running out of fuel you don't need to fiddle around with the tanks as it could cause instabilities.

For me it worked fine. I can start the Tu-134 now from a saved situation and don't have electrical failures so far (although I have to confess that I tested it only at short hops as EDDP-EDDC or similar). Without the fix, I had complete blackouts not later than five minutes after takeoff.

My second best solution was to place a very small Cessna Battery/Alternator switch somewhere in an edge of the Tu-134's electrical panel. When I switched them on prior to start (or when changing from APU to engines' generators) I don't remember electrical failures.

If you have full version FSUIPC you can extend battery life indefinitely trough it's misc options I believe. That was my former solution to the glitch.

Great airplane isn't it... Wish it was fully made work in FSX as I recently migrated. Only problem now with Tu-134A is the lack of alternate navigation systems as the NAS-1 doesn't really properly work and is a burden on pilot workload. There is GPS for it but cannot connect to autopilot. A retrofit is needed as the plane is complex and doing navigators job is very hard unlike real life where there's most commonly a crew of 3-4 people.

Yes it is very nice, love it.  Now I can do flight plans and just follow the heading.  Since it can't follow the GPS, but no problem there, just check the map and follow the heading.

You are using the KLN90B gps if I'm correct? In Russia unfortunately today many SID/STAR are NDB only. VOR and RSBN are not really present in the charts anymore making radio navigation extremely difficult. The NDB approaches though, are bearable but thankfully most airports got ILS.

How do I setup up the ILS for approach at an airport?  There is a frequency for each airport so where do I go on the navigator panel to set it up.  I know where to activate it on the autopilot, I just need to know where to set it up for a specific airport.  


I just had a long flight for about 2 and half hours.  I'll post a video soon on YouTube for that flight.  Happy flying.
