I have a 27" LED Monitor. Should the wide aspect ratio in the CFG. file be set to True or the default False?

Set it to True, you will soon notice the difference in Field of view in the VC

Set to true, but you may find that the perspective still looks a bit strange, particularly if (like me) you use 2d cockpits.

 

You may want to play around with the zoom a bit after setting.
