UT2.. typical traffic load example for KSEA A:7 D:48?

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to verify i'm seeing things correctly with fsx and Ut2...

If i install SuperTrafficboard and have the UT2 sliders set to 100% (both).. (generic repaints disabled), while fsx traffic sliders at 0%..

I see for instance.. at 455pm in the STB interface a total of 182 for all airports.. and for KSEA A:5 D:42

Then in FSX, view.. top down.. zoom out.. at any one moment there might be 2 AI aircraft in say a 25 mile radius on the birds eye view.. sometimes only 1.. at the KSEA terminal area I see many aircraft on the jetways, however.

Is this about average with what everyone else has experienced?

If so.. any good ways to increase the amount by at least 3-4x?  I had installed WOAI and about 3 airlines.. those are in the aircraft folder, but i turned off fsx sliders for that and in the world scenery folder disabled the bgls for the 3 airline packages (to avoid conflicts and other issues).. I was originally thinking the two could work together to create more traffic, but unsure if thats wise.

I had UT2 once several years ago but do not recall zeroing out my FSX AI traffic slider.  I have never heard of that before.  I now use MyTrafficX and have experienced what you have experienced but then play around with the schedules and suddenly I see a lot of traffic.

One thing I noticed about STB is when you sync it with FSX you will get those kinds of A/D but it shows the Departures for upcoming hours. So when you were at the airport there might not have been much traffic moving which is normal because all those flights at the gate could have "just landed". If you load UT2 and look at a airports schedule go when there is supposed to be a high volume of traffic and you will see tons of planes taxiing around taking off and landing.

If I remember correctly UT2 can't just start traffic on final to a airport. It needs to be at least x number of miles away from a given airport to spawn in the sim. So when you loaded the sim there could have been a bunch of planes at the gates that could have "just landed" prior to when you started the sim. If you had started the sim at say 425 maybe some of those planes that you see at the gates would have landed and taxied to the gates which you would have seen.

I remember flying out of KSEA and I had to sit and wait for like 10+ planes to land. Busy airports at busy times can actually get quite frustrating because most times you will be waiting for traffic to take off and land.

I wish I could figure out a way to get ATC to use all the available runways because it seems like the ATC no matter what always just funnels the planes to one runway when there could be 2 or 3 used for landing.

Many times with UT2 I have been waiting to take off only to have planes "disappear" in front of me because they couldn't take off fast enough because of landing traffic.
