February 14, 201412 yr Just thought it looked pretty George Jetson-esque. ^_^ We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically. February 16, 201412 yr Boeing used to do concepts like this back in the 1960's.....waste of time If it is not value added then don't focus on it, hence the reason why jets still look like a 707 when seen at cruising altitude from the ground, regardless of Airbus or Boeing, only difference is number of engines. The 787 is just a refined version of a 707 over 56 years of improvements. Concept is the same with improvements in materials, engines and electronics etc. When at cruise altitude looking up you could barely tell the difference between a 707 or a 787 because the concept is just the same. Oh yeah, and the other difference is you can't smoke on airplanes any more. Other then that, it is just 56 years of refinements. Video #2 with the formations....that could only happen if the different airlines could learn to organize that with each other. Considering Airlines are cut throat competition, their is a very good chance they never agree on that as the lead plane has a disadvantage with fuel loss, rear planes have a fuel advantage but are secondary at the gate....when you look at it corporations need to change before that can happen because they schedule different then a formation based business model as they compete with each other directly. February 18, 201412 yr Author I think even engineers need to be allowed to let their imaginations run wild from time to time. They can read up on the latest trends and speculate and take a break from stale everyday stuff. You should see some of the things festo lets its engineers get up to, and on a fairly regular basis. These kind of grim looking sober German guys in suits...... Then they pull this super amazing stuff out of their butts! We are all connected..... To each other, biologically......
