FSX Install location

Featured Replies

I am not having any major issues at the moment (ouch probably shouldnt of said that !)

just out of interest,  my FSX is not installed to

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games

but to

E:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games

I do have a folder

C:\Program Files (x86)

Lots of people recommend not installing to C:\Program Files (x86),  as mine is on E  is that different, or does it have the same restrictions?  UAC is turned off and I instal everything as Administrator.

Its just if I ever have to reinstal was wondering if I should instal say to

E:\fsx    and avoid Program Files (x86)\  irrespective of what drive its on.

Although saying that I am becoming paranoid with fsx and image my drive fairly oftern to an external USB drive as a back up!

Any comments appreciated.

Nope - On your e drive should be fine.

failing that, It seems OK on the root of the C drive.

Folder names don't matter for the most part on separate drives, running FSX on a separate drive makes a huge difference in load times and some third party apps don't play well with the default install.
