April 1, 201412 yr That's what kind if my point is, I don't think you can with the FSX weather engine, it's just not that accurate. I really think your problems are elsewhere rather than only being able to taxi straight if the wind is blowing in a certain direction. I would really urge you to try if you can another joystick as a trial just to eliminate problems with your current joystick. As I said in my post I've been in the same situation as you and it was a joystick problem. Have you tried to recalibrate your joystick in the control options? April 1, 201412 yr Author I don't think its my joy stick because I can taxi around Los Angeles airport on the BBJ ramp in any direction without it pulling like it does if I'm in Las Vegas...so that would indicate my stick is ok? Or no? Ralph Freshour www.GMTPilots.com
April 1, 201412 yr Is your Vegas scenery an addon or FSX default? If it's an addon maybe something to do with that, try asking that company or through their forums if anyone else is having the same problem. Though I'm no real world pilot, I would doubt an airliner taxing about 10mph in windy conditions, it would have such an adverse effect for the aircraft to drastically pull to one side. It does seem an error somewhere in the setup Tony Simpson FLYING FROM EGKK, The worlds busiest single runway Airport.
April 1, 201412 yr In the FSX weather settings, set it to User-defined weather and set the Wind Speed to None, then try taxiing at LAS. Michael Faia
April 7, 201412 yr Author In the FSX weather settings, set it to User-defined weather and set the Wind Speed to None, then try taxiing at LAS. That solved it...!!! How do I save that? I set it to user defined but it only remains in effect for the next flight I take. If I shut down FSX it doesn't stay set. Ralph Freshour www.GMTPilots.com
April 7, 201412 yr Just have to change it when you start FSX. Glad you got the problem sorted, but if you want to fly with real world weather your going to have the same problem with the aircraft pulling to one side. Tony Simpson FLYING FROM EGKK, The worlds busiest single runway Airport.
April 7, 201412 yr Guess you could save a flight with zero wind and always load it first, then relocate wherever. But that's more hassle than just setting zero wind every time. Michael Faia
April 7, 201412 yr Author >Just have to change it when you start FSX. Hmmm...I see...too bad it doesn't save it between sessions...thanks. I'm not that concerned about having real world weather except for setting heavy fog and low ceilings when I make my ILS approaches...I use my 737NGX for keeping my brain up to date flying IFR trips (I have an instrument rating).
