March 28, 201412 yr Another question. I am finding sometimes I get a long wait before I can acknowledge an instruction (before the 1 or 7 are available). I realise that in real-life there can be a delay, but sometimes these are of the order of 20 - 25 seconds. Other times the response is immediate. When it's slow and yet the situation is busy, it's frustrating to have to keep remembering to respond whilst other things need doing. Is there any way of making the exchanges feel more immediate? Thanks Nigel P.S. I am on a new and fast PC now, but when I ran this years ago I felt the response times weren't so slow.
March 28, 201412 yr Be sure fsuipc is current. Sometimes the "pipeline" especially SimConnect can get overloaded if many apps are using that pipeline at the same time. Also, still close any not needed apps running in the background. I see you have several apps running at the same time which use SimConnect.
March 29, 201412 yr Just my 2c worth. Make sure RC4 is not part of the FS main folder, give it one of its own and preferably put it on an SSD. Intel i7 6700K @4.3. 32gb Gskill 3200 RAM. Z170x Gigabyte m/b. 28" LG HD monitor. Win 10 Home. 500g Samsung 960 as Windows home. 1 Gb Mushkin SSD for P3D. GTX 1080 8gb.
April 6, 201412 yr Author I've been slow to reply on this. I haven't improved the response times. But I have since realised that I don't need to wait for the indication "7 to acknowledge" to appear I can press the appropriate ight after ATC gives the command which needs that response. So I don't sit waiting to respond and delay carrying out the command. It also feels more fluid even if my response in words doesn't come immediately and the controller response is still delayed. April 6, 201412 yr At least it is narrowed to menu rewrites. If you get a command that causes a delay in the aircraft performance change (or sometimes they dip before climbing) and if you are not very close to a checkpoint to be credited hold off the ack a short time or the fussy controller can get impatient.
