April 14, 201412 yr Hello everyone, (1) Thought I would ask this before I break a rock with my forehead. So this has been intriguing for some time now. Why is it that my FSX will not retain the same brightness and colors as my desktop or websites, or any other application? As soon as I fly, the entire graphics becomes more dull and less colors. Is there a way within FSX CFG too adjust the colors strength or brightness to remain the same? I have a stable 2700k @ 5.0Ghz ,1866 Ram, ASN, FSX with DX-10 (Steve's fix), Nvidia 670 Card. I have adjusted my monitor brightness and colors in every setting possible, also have with 32 bit colors set. I have also disabled "adaptive brightness" service with Windows. I don't know if there's even an application out there that would modify light and color intensity within FSX DX-10... Or, as I within FSX CFG. (2) I have not join REX website yet to ask this; Maybe someone in this community knows. I have REX Essentials Plus and REX 4 Direct. I have both installed; but my questions is which of the two is the one that my FSX would use for textures and settings? If I have both installed which one is FSX going by? (like texture and cloud resolution, etc). See, when I got REX 4, I thought it was a totally new software above REX Essential PLUS, but came to find out you can use both. I was already happy with REX Essentials (Has more than enough options- way more than REX4 ) , and feel that I wasted money on REX 4. Unless, I haven't learned to use them... Your input would help.
April 15, 201412 yr I had the same problem then found Sweet FX. That solved all my problems and even works in DX10 as well. You can change the brightness, color intensity, sepia, black and white, or anything you want. It is great and free. fisheye
April 15, 201412 yr Sweet FX ? Sweeeeeeeeeeet ! I'll look into it. Does requires manual installations or does it has a installer?

Which ever one you used last to send the textures into FSX's /Texture folder.
April 16, 201412 yr I managed to improve things by simply installing EMB. IAN Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)
April 19, 201412 yr Yep, got it. Add it to FSX's root, and balamm, it sure makes FSX damn good. Thanks guys. I'm glad I finally decided to try it.
