April 22, 201412 yr Commercial Member Nope, that's where the scenery.cfg is stored, shader cache is in C:\Users\[you]\AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2 or just paste %LOCALAPPDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2 into the address bar of an explorer window and hit enter.
April 22, 201412 yr My bad! Knew it wasn't in the usual \AppData\Roaming etc just went for the wrong one!
April 29, 201412 yr I read that when replacing a GPU, you should delete the shader cache but what exactly do you delete in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2 ? I do not seem to have a \shaders directory under the above. Mario Di Lauro
April 29, 201412 yr Author Here is the traditional path. Backup Shader folder and delete original. P3d will restore the folder when it is run. C:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2 Substitute for the word Me in this example. regards, Dick near Pittsburgh, USA
April 29, 201412 yr Thanks nudata but as I mentioned above - no Shader folder exists (hidden files and folders are on BTW). Bizarre? Mario Di Lauro
April 30, 201412 yr Author Just to be sure the correct area is used. When you open the Lockheed folder you should see only a Prepare 3D v2 folder. You may also have a Prepare 3D folder if you had 1.4 version installed. Inside the Prepare 3D v2 folder is the Shaders folder. This may be repetitious but just to be sure of the location. If it is not there then Lockheed is using some other shader folder. Perhaps the primary that is used when the shader folder is deleted from the Lockheed folder. regards, Dick near Pittsburgh, USA
