April 22, 201412 yr Up until now I had pre-build computers for flightsimming, but my experiences with what the stores advised never really satisfied me, so this time I decided to build my own. I do know a little about computer hardware, but I'm certainly no expert and I would most appreciate it if someone could have a look at what I came up with and check if this would be a proper system for flightsimming. I'm using P3D v1.4, but I'm soon going to upgrade to v2. I understand there are plenty of better option than what I choose here that cost a lot more, but I'm not a rich man, so I had to stick to a budget, so if you advise on other components, please don't deviate too much from the given price range. This is what I came up with: Motherboard: Asus Z87-K Processor: Intel i7-4770, 3400Mhz Memory: Corsair 8GB DDR3-2400, XMP hard disc: 2x Kingston SSDnow V300 Video card: MSI N760GTX Hawk, 2GDDR5 Casing: Aerocool X-Warrior PSU: Aerocool AP-550, 550Watt I'll gladly hear what you think about it and/or if it would be wise to make some changes. Cheers! Maarten
April 22, 201412 yr I have similar to that except my 8GB of RAM is slower and i have an i5, and i am very happy and was suprised at how good my performance is with addons. James Bennett
April 24, 201412 yr Author I'm not familiar with overclocking myself, so I'm not sure if I should, or if I can find someone to help me... So let's say I would like the option if I ever want to. I heard very positive comments about the Cooler Master Hyper212 Evo, But I'm always open for other sugestions. Cheers! Maarten
April 24, 201412 yr Yep, Cooler Master Hyper212 Evo is the best bang for your buck cooler. The Thermalright Archon SB-EX2 is better still, without RAM clearance issues. And would allow pretty much any overclock you end up shooting for. As usual with any cooler, make sure it fits in your case.
