Megasceneryearth 2.0 Louisiana Scenery Issues

Featured Replies

Looking for some help here since the MSE peeps either can't or won't respond. I'm having some issues with the resolution on my Louisiana scenery. I have a lot of their other scenery installed (Texas, Pennsylvania, Virginia, etc.) and am not seeing any issues with those sections.

I'm guessing it could just be the source data they had for Louisiana, but it just seems so washed out compared to all the other scenery I am using from them.

I'm using the latest version of Prepar3d with the Rex 4 textures installed. I'm attaching some screen caps with what I'm seeing along with my video settings. Any help y'all could give me would be much appreciated!

Apologies for the ginormous screen shots. I tried scaling them down in Photobucket, but didn't have any luck.

It's probably the source data. I have MSE New Mexico and Ohio and see the same discrepancies between the two.

I noticed this as well...particularly the salt flats in Utah - it's bleech white at noon.  What I do to mitigate the problem is open the time preview window then slide the slider to a time of day that prevents the blowout/oversaturation.  Then I slide the Time Preview window to the very bottom corner so only a few pixels are visible and I can easily access the window and adjust the time of day without enduring a texture reload pause.  Strange the effects of the time preview window are immediate but you have to reload all textures if you hit the OK/APPLY button.

You will see huge variations from state to state, and even within state.  The time of year the source satellite photos were taken, the resolution, the processing, etc., can all make a difference.  If you have the Colorado scenery, there is a major variation in color saturation in the middle of Denver.

It's just par for the course.  You won't see uniformity.

If you are complaining about Lousiana, you MUST see Kansas, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky, so washed that one could almost only see green and white.

I appreciate all of the responses. I'll just fly IFR any time I'm in Louisiana :P
