April 25, 201412 yr I would like to reinstall my windows completely getting everything in harddisk removed. Is there anything that I should do to ensure that the reinstallation progress will not affect the license registration limit of my Active Sky Next, like using official key reset tool? (My current system has registered Active Sky Next) Intel Core i7-6700K @4.6GHz // ASUS ROG Maximus VIII HERO // G.SKILL Ripjaws V 3000MHz CL15 8GB // INNO3D iCHILL GTX770 4GB OC // Corsair h110iGT
April 25, 201412 yr The tool you speak of is completely unrelated to what you think it is, it literally just allows you to safely clear a registry key with the product activation key in the eventuality that you need to change your key for whatever reason. When and If you ever run out of product activations its simply a matter of contacting support via the support ticket system on the Hifi website and your key usage allocation will be reset after investigation. Cheers, Andy.
April 25, 201412 yr I've done WAAAAAY too many full OS reloads just in the past two months or so... bouncing between Win7, 8.1, 8.1 Update 1, back to 7.... and WAAAAY too many flight simulator "resets" - from FSX, to P3D, back to FSX, back to P3D, back to FSX.... I installed and reinstalled many programs which are online activated, and didn't run into any issues. Frankly, I was surprised at that, considering how many times I blew out my computer and started fresh in such a short timespan. Don't sweat the reinstallation. You should be just fine. Just make darn sure that you have all of your installation files backed up somewhere safe for the process. -Greg
April 29, 201412 yr Commercial Member I would like to reinstall my windows completely getting everything in harddisk removed. Is there anything that I should do to ensure that the reinstallation progress will not affect the license registration limit of my Active Sky Next, like using official key reset tool? (My current system has registered Active Sky Next) If you purchased a valid license and you need it reset, just open a support ticket to get it reset. There is no investigation involved in this process. Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager
April 29, 201412 yr So what's the point of a 10 activations limit if you don't check/investigate how often someone has used their license, seems pointless having a limit then Dave! Cheers, Andy.

You can take the activation limit up with Damian. I don't run an "investigation" everytime a customer's license needs to be reset. You make it sound like they committed a crime or something. April 29, 201412 yr Never mind, I didn't realise that a key is checked during every session and it can only work on one machine at any one time. I was worried that key sharing could be an issue. It makes the 10 activations (before requiring a reset by support) superfluous though. Cheers, Andy.
