April 26, 201412 yr is it possible to enter Lat/Lon fixes on the FIX pages in FMC. If so what is syntax? There is something in the manual that indicates this is possible in the real plane. Ari Hamalainen
April 26, 201412 yr is it possible to enter Lat/Lon fixes on the FIX pages in FMC. If so what is syntax?I am flying the NGX now so I don't have access to the 77LR or 777F so you try it yourself and see if it works. I imagine the syntax would be 4 numbers with a letter inserted in the sequence of numbers depending upon the location of the fix such as 4580N for the North Atlantic, 41N30 for the Northern Pacific near California, 42E60 for the Northern Pacific near Japan, 1510S for the Southern Atlantic near Africa and so on. This is the same syntax you would see on the legs pages for these types of locations. Michael Cubine
April 26, 201412 yr Commercial Member is it possible to enter Lat/Lon fixes on the FIX pages in FMC. If so what is syntax? In the exact same format LAT/LON fixes are used elsewhere. Ever in doubt about what format a computer wants you to give it data? Go to a page where it's displaying that data. In your case, LAT/LON data can be found on 10+ pages...most notably the INIT REF - POS page. Further (shorthand) examples can be found in the FCOM, or via a forum search here (I know it'll give you an answer because I've answered it several times). Kyle Rodgers
April 26, 201412 yr Yes it is and here is an example of how to type it in N5227.8W00145.0 The latitude is always five numbers with a full stop before the fifth and the longitude is always six numbers with a full stop before the sixth. Hope that helps. Regards Nixon Thomas
