May 1, 201412 yr Hi I have recently installed and set up Steve's DX-10 Fixer and it all seems to be running quite well and smoothly. Unfortunately however, I have a problem with one of my favourite airfields to fly from (EICN) in that there is a black opacity running right along a hedgerow on the airfield perimeter. It looks like this black opacity runs through an area which otherwise should be transparent (ie between the vegetation which makes up the hedgerow) but I have no idea how to remedy this and it makes the whole perimeter look like it is surrounded by a high black fence. I have been through the manual and searched the forums but cannot find a solution. I am sorry I have not posted any screenshots as the whole screenshot posting process seems too complex now, but any help would be appreciated. Many thanks. Bill
May 1, 201412 yr It sounds like you have installed addon scenery not compatible with DX10 Preview. There's a program called Addon_Converter_X which will convert the textures on the fly (not save them). FlightOne has a demo version that works for 10 or 20 minutes so you can see if it works before you purchase it. If you have no addon scenery then I suggest asking Steve in the DX10 Fixer forum hosted here on AVSIM. Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! May 1, 201412 yr Commercial Member Is this daytime? The process to go through is first test in dx9 I presume it's ok and you may well know that already. Then test in dx10 with the dx10sf libraries uninstalled. Then enable the libraries but untick legacy shader If nothing changes try the 8 bit fix otherwise describe what happened. My FSX Analysis Blog
May 1, 201412 yr Author Thanks Steve! Yes, it is in daytime and it had previously been fine in DX9. Will try what you suggest tonight. Bill
May 1, 201412 yr Author Have tried the recommendations in the order you suggested but sadly no change - the hedgerows remain as before with each change in the parameters. This isn't a huge issue (and would probably bother me less if I didn't know the airfield well - my wife would say I am obsessing about things that don't matter!!) so I guess I can live with it given the overall improvement in FSX with the DX10 Fixer (thank you for that!). If however you can think of anything else I might try, then please let me know. Many thanks, Bill
May 2, 201412 yr Commercial Member Is this a freeware scenery that I can download? My FSX Analysis Blog
May 2, 201412 yr Author Yes - Ireland VFR Small Airports Part 4 by George Keogh (in the Avsim Library). The airfield that I am having the issue with is Coonagh (EICN). Kind regards, Bill
