Runway 1R not in database for KIAD

I could not find runway 1R in my efforts to load a flight from KIAD to KJFK

Do you have default scenery, or addon scenery?

Because AFAIK, default scenery isn't the most accurate and often has incorrect runway assignments.

Also, what Nav-Data are you using?

I have Flight Beam KIAH installed and I use Navigraph  data and have the latest cycle 1405 installed.

Runway 1R has been there since the opening of the airport, and the designation has never been changed, so it's not that type of issue.

Re-run the nav-data installer as an admin to see if that corrects the issue (since you're using Navigraph, ensure you're running their management tool as an admin, if you're using that instead).  If that does not solve the issue, then it's something you should raise with them.

There have also been reports of the Navigraph installer defaulting to a wrong directory. Make sure it installs the data where PMDG needs it.

If you're not referring to the B777, but to FSX - in FSX runways can be denoted 'landing only', so you can't select them as departure runways in the "Fly Now" screen anymore. Not sure, though, whether that could be an issue with KIAD 1R (01R for non-FAA land :P). But "FAA-Kyle" will most probably know about that runway!

KIAD runway 01R is certainly in the Navigraph 1405 release, as are its SIDs, STARs, and approaches. If you do not see it in the list of runways for KIAD then I'd suggest removing the pmdg/navdata and pmdg/sidstars subdirectories and downloading a new copy of the installer and running it again.

haha - Runway 1R is usually used for arrivals for the most part, due to the taxi distance from the terminal.  Runway 1C (the old 1L) and 30 are preferentially used for departures, with north and east departures usually on 1C with south and west departures on 30.  This flips for south ops: 19C arrivals, 19L for south and west departures, and 30 for north and east departures.

Runway 1L/19R is only used when the controllers decide that you're being a pest.*

*In reality, it's used only when things get really busy, and aircraft are sent there at random after trying to get everyone in on 1C/19C and 1R/19L.  Or, in my case, it's used to get an extra landing in at night on my way back from CHOtown.
