Weight & Balance

Featured Replies

Dear Sirs

I am writing to you as Operations Director of a VA. As a P3D user, I don't have the PMDG 777, although I will certainly do so as soon as it is available on the P3D platform. One of my pilots has come to me with an interesting question, and I thought I would put it to your good selves.

Regarding the passenger configuration (Per aircraft.cfg) of this aircraft. You show :
// Weight && Balance Manual 2/3 Class
station_load.0 =  1950.0, 49.77, 0.0, 4.9
station_name.0 = "First Class"
station_load.1 =  6435.0, -0.32, 0.0, 4.9
station_name.1 = "Business Class"
station_load.2 = 22815.0, -50.8, 0.0, 4.9
station_name.2 = "Economy Class"

Now these weights equate to a maximum, using  a conservative 150lbs per passenger, of 13/43/152.

The airline we simulate offers a seat configuration of 35/34/249

As you can see, there is quite some difference here. Is there a simple explanation for this that I may have missed?

Many thanks

Steve Marks

Ehm, those aren't maximum values, those are just "preselected" values. Also PMDG products are not loaded via FS standart methods, so I don't even know how much is this actually valid

That's fine. As I said, I don't have the aircraft, so I'm just passing on what I was told by our pilot (His English isn't great so that's why I'm posting for him).

What is the maximum in the (I assume) Configuration tool?

It's in-sim in the CDU itself. I don't know what configs PMDG uses, but you can get to MZFW without any problem.
