I tried the demo of XPlane10 when it was released. One glitch I encountered was this. I could get out below a cloud deck in have a clear view of the ground. Then after further descent I could find myself inside clouds that had not been visible before. When I mentioned it here I think I was told that the developers where aware of the problem. So has this been fixed yet?

Do you mean the cloud white-out problem? Yes, it's still there in the default X-Plane at the moment. I now use Skymaxx Pro which solved this and gives better performance, but I've also heard there is a tweak, and I might be wrong, but I'm sure I've seen an option to turn off the white-out -> more info here: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/433908-experimenting-with-art-controls-raleigh-scattering/.

It is being addressed in the upcoming XP10.30

Fixing the cloud white-out issue  plus increasing the view distance is going to be great!

I do like to caution people about the view distance improvement a little bit, because it will only be optional, and will not work on every hardware (as it needs a lot more RAM). See my thoughts / observations on it in the other 10.30 thread:
