May 17, 201412 yr Hello, I am buying a new system for FSX and trying to get a SSD. What is a reasonable size, given the FTC that those are quite expensive? I am planning to include: FSX acceleration Few aircrafts (around 5) from Carenado Reality XP gauges and GPS EZ Cam ORBX fTX Golbal, vector, England, Scotland, Wales Few ORBX airports REX4 Active Sky Next VoxATC (with few AT&T or Ivona voices) FS Instant Approach Pro FS Flightscholl 2014 Pro Could I get away with 120GB SSD for everything, and putting the OS in a second, standard HD? Many thanks!
May 17, 201412 yr 256 as a minimum IMHO. I just left a 120 that was 90 % full.... Got a 500GB Evo for 240 on amazon | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
May 20, 201412 yr Got a Samsung 1TB (actually got 2 of them) on my new Jetline System. I use FSX on one of them, and the other is for everything else. I decided that when I had this system built (my 2nd Jetline over last 6 years) that FSX has too much great scenery that takes up so much space that I wasn't going to worry about downloading anymore. These SSD's have eliminated that worry. Stan
