May 21, 201412 yr Hi I am new to PMDG Products. Can I buy boxed products? I want to see them with manuals, DVDs, etc. inside box. For example , I couldnt find any manual for 777 online, even if boxed version is not available. thank you
May 21, 201412 yr I believe the paper manuals are in process of being updated, that's why they are not able to be bought in the store right now. Also, the manuals you get (digitally) with the 777,.well... The pages rank into the thousands, so if they were to sell them as hardcopy with every purchase, you'd have to pay something like 300$ for the 777. Lastly, the boxed version (only the add-on, not the manuals) won't come out before the release of SP1. Name available upon request
May 21, 201412 yr You won't find the boxed products in the PMDG store, but at a number of different vendors. Publisher of the boxes has been Aerosoft so far. Printed manuals inside the boxes usually are introductions and tutorials, but never the complete documentation like FCOMs, QRH etc. These come as pdf's on the disc/included in the installer. Also model extensions have never been boxed (NGX -600/-700, 747-8i). While pdf's of former releases are available as free downloads from the PMDG website, the 777 intro doc and 1st tutorial haven't been published. What happened to AVSIM
May 24, 201412 yr Hi I am new to PMDG Products. Can I buy boxed products? I want to see them with manuals, DVDs, The 777 is still very new, so no boxed for it yet. Boxed versions of the following exist... 737NGX 800/900 (600/700 sold separately and download only) MD11X 747-400X (LCF and 8i/F expansions are sold separately and download only) JS4100 All boxed aircraft have a manual booklet, the 747 and MD-11 have a small double sided poster laying out basic cockpit geography, the 747 has a separate FMC manual that match the general manual in thickness, the MD-11 has a Tutorial Flight manual...that also matches the general manual in thickness. How thick is the general manual all four aircraft have? about the same as a Drivers Ed manual...but in a DVD case form factor Manuals in boxed sets just cover basic use, for full operation... http://www.precisionmanuals.com/pages/downloads/docs.html
May 24, 201412 yr You can purchase printed manual, training aids and printed cockpit stickers from PMDG website here http://www.precisionmanuals.com/ProductCart/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=14 777 is not available yet but hopefully it will be in near future. Ammar Khan
May 24, 201412 yr About a week ago, I received a promotional email from Flightstore indicating that the boxed version of the 777 will be available on 20 June, costing @ UKP 70 and offering a subscriber pre-order price of @ UKP 60.
May 24, 201412 yr That's just eight days after Aerosoft's 'dummy' date in their store. Very(!) unlikely it will actually come out that soon. What happened to AVSIM
May 24, 201412 yr Fact is: Nobody knows when SP1 and the -300ER will come out. PMDG probably does have a target date internally, but it they probably don't even KNOW whether they'll actually meet this date, or whether they'll have to "postpone" release. That's what I like about PMDG. They don't do rush jobs. They want something to be as close as possible to reality before releasing it. When bugs are found after release, it's not because they said "F-it! Let's release this thing!", the bugs are mostly things that just havent been picked up on ruing the beta phase. And THAT is why PMDG is pretty much the deciding factor in which sim I use. Name available upon request
