May 22, 201412 yr Should there be an upper eicas message for when the speedbrake is extended? I think only if the thrust is trying to increase whilst speekbrakes extended. Also shows ARMED when armed. Wes Meyer
May 22, 201412 yr An EICAS "SPEEDBRAKE EXTENDED" message occurs if speedbrakes are extended when either flaps are in the landing position (25, 30), radio altitude is 800 'or below, or the thrust levers are not closed. You can also get a "AUTO SPEEDBRAKE" advisory EICAS message when a fault is detected in the automatic speedbrake system. "SPEEDBRAKE ARMED" memo message when they are armed. Furthermore; a "SPEEDBRAKE EXTENDED" caution message with a aural beeper when the speedbrakes are extended when radioaltitude is between 15 and 800 feet, or when the flap lever is in a landing position, or when either thrust lever is not closed. Safe & smooth flying, Clarke Ramsey
