June 9, 201411 yr Would it burst the budget though? The RAM you already have should be DDR3? Its not ideal but if you're really short of cash you could re-use the RAM you have. Intel i5 4670K or even 4690K when its out + a Z97 motherboard would be under 500euros I'd like to think. I even think there would be enough cash left for 8GB of 2133 CL9or faster RAM to top it off with. That's a very good upgrade for FSX. He can upgrade the GPU later. This is what will have the most impact.
