June 10, 201411 yr Yesterday I was flying with BergSpreu69, this is the two of us at Fairbanks. He then relocated to another location and I followed suit. Shortly thereafter we came upon this anomaly, and it’s hard to believe that I had not seen it before. Makes you realize just how big Alaska is. I these next two shots, Spot view then cockpit view as I approach. Closer (I get notified Steve is on live and I send him an invite to join us there) I landed in a cleaning nearby and start to walk to it, but changed my mind and go back to my plane and they both had landed there also, that was one crowed little clearing. I take off and land down by the river. I get out of the plane and start walking over to it. I stopped at the base and look straight up and take this one. I then walked on water to take this one. I then proceed to walk to the top and take this shot of Steve flying around below. In this shot I’m looking almost straight down as Steve fly’s by, and in the little red circle is my plane. I descended at this point, and it was amazing how fast I was able to get down. Thanks BergSpreu69 for sharing this with us. J. R.
June 10, 201411 yr Great shots Jack, that was fun. Just love the voice communication set up, works great. Steve Steve
June 10, 201411 yr It seems like I saw that early on with the release of the Alaska pack. Back then there were a good number of anomalies posted. For some reason, the thread got locked. Maybe we should start another topic about them and list them with pics if someone finds one. I think it would be interesting to see what we find. As for multiplayer and voice, I tried this a couple of times over the last couple of days and couldn't get anyone to answer me. I'm pretty sure I have everything set up correctly. I'll keep looking to see if someone whose tag I recognize opens a session. Maybe we can figure out whats going on. I'm EngageMercury7 so if you see I've opened a session, feel free to join. June 10, 201411 yr Author Jack Harper T49 is my tag. I will keep an eye out for yours Rick, and if a particular time is convenient for you, just say so, I can guarantee I won't be late for work. Take care up there. J. R.
June 10, 201411 yr I caught up with Rick who was just tooling around south of Fairbanks looking for someone to talk to. His com was working 5 by 5 so we desired to land on a section of frozen river next to the Host's aircraft. There was no one home so we had a nice chat "to check out equipment." Someone made a very hot landing over over us with a RV. He taxied up to us but was not interested in talking and soon departed. Rick says he may be around sometime tomorrow afternoon if anyone is looking. I don't think I will be able to make it. Sorry, sometimes I think I am on Face Book. Steve
June 11, 201411 yr It was fun, Steve. Great to talk to someone in person whose company I've enjoyed for several years on AVSIM. As stated, I might try to get back on this afternoon, but I'm not sure. I found a plumbing problem at 0130 this am and after a lunch engagement I will have to deal with it. I hate to do plumbing. If I am hosting a session though any and all are welcome to join for whatever time I can be there. Thank you.
