June 15, 201411 yr Hi All, I have spent years thinking about upgrading my one 30 inch flight sim monitor into a multi monitor array---and two months ago i took the financial plunge and bought 4 more 30 inchers and a 19 inch monitor and built a hot new computer with all the power and bells and whistles as well as two new Nvidia 760 Video cards with two gig of video on board each card and spent the next 40 days re-doing my office and my garage to handle the new set up---it has been an exausting period and I am really tired---the new set up looks great and my friends and neighbors are impressed with the new look flight sim---(no more ugly wires everwhere0----BUY alas as cool as my new set up looks the system is not running well---I have all new insalation of FSX--with sp2 acceleration pack and Reg copy of fsuipc--the computer is good---(I have been doing this for over twenty years and have gone down all the roads to getting a good working sim---did the froogle sim tweeks and the FSXGenius tweeks and the HIGHTMEMFIX=1 stuff---But---and this is really my present problem and question---when I drag secondary windows to the other monitors it crashes the sim--last week I was getting multiple windows of work but now I might work on one other monitor but crash if I try two others---I bought a Matrox tripple head to go and that does work but I hate it because it is hust a big strech of one window and is distorted and at a res much lower the my nice 30 inch 2500 by 1600 which makes my good scenery so imersive and exciteing. I am hopeing that some one here can and help wisdow and understnding to my sim inteligence. Thanks ans Cheers Dorn

You are running five 30" 2500x1600 monitors plus another 19"? gb. YSSY. Win 10, [email protected], Corsair H115i Cooler, RTX 4070Ti, 32GB G.Skill Trident Z F4-3200, Samsung 960 EVO M.2 256GB, ASUS Maximus VIII Ranger, Corsair HX850i 850W, Thermaltake Core X31 Case, Samsung 4K 65" TV.
June 16, 201411 yr Dragging a 2d instrument panel to a second (third, fourth, fifth ) monitor has always crashed my system. Hope someone can come up with your solution. My question though is : With all of that real estate why not stick with a 3d cockpit? Many of the newer planes are opting out out of 2d instuments anyway. Rick Bertz
June 16, 201411 yr Author sorry to take so long to reply. i have a do do list for a friend happening at the moment----but yes 5 30 inchers and a 19 for the glass pilot/nav displays---i had it all running on the ms fsx stock 737---then ran the PMDG and of course crashed the system---now having trouble with all the aircraft--will fininsh my chores and get into this issue later toaday or this evening--- thanks for the replies cheers dorn
June 16, 201411 yr two new Nvidia 760 Video cards with two gig of video on board I seriously doubt these cards have the horsepower to run the screens at the resolution described, even if they were the 4GB versions.

To realistically drive those monitors you would really need to look at a multiple computer set-up and a program like Wideview. In the short term I would drop 2 of the monitors and see if you could get 3 plus the 19 working. Even then you might have to run the 30"s at a lower, non-native resolution. gb. YSSY. June 19, 201411 yr That is 20Mpixels + the 19" screen you are trying to drive. Or to put it in to perspective, that is more than 3x the pixels people with 3x 1920x1080 screens have. Or 2 and a half 4K screens. Doubt any computer would be able to handle FSX in that..
