Any Way to Remove VC Window Tint/Effects From QW 757?

Featured Replies

I found a file that clears the VC windows completely for FSX, but I can't find one for FS9.

Anybody know if one exist, or if it can be removed manually?

I always thought it looked good the way it is...

It's the effects/animation that really bothers me.  I'm OK with slight tinting, but prefer clear windows like the MD-11.

Yes, I would like clear windows, too! I have noticed that the opaqueness changes with the different Nvidia driver versions. I think Carenado does this the right way - in their latest offerings the VC window reflections and instrument reflections can be switched on/off.

I've never understood why some designers insist on doing opaque windows. In real life the eye compensates for tinted windows, usually you don't notice it. Just clour/contrast shift. By comparison, most VC windows in FS which have opaque material set look as if the windows/canopy hasn't been cleaned for years!

I do like alpha mapped reflections, though. I just adjust the alpha channel to a transparency I like.
