July 3, 201411 yr Commercial Member Is it too much to ask that vendors only make announcements about immenient release when they is ready to release the new product to the general public within the week with a reasonable 80 per cent plus assurance of doing so? Yes and no. The difficulty with code is that it can be amazingly tough to nail down issues when compared to things that are more physical. The code work is the mass of the projects now, and if there's a problem with it, it can set the project back significantly. If anyone has coded before, trying to nail down a bug can be a nightmare sometimes. As such, only cursory expectations can be given. Sometimes [stuff] happens, and the time frame slips. Honestly, I think half the reason people get as much as they do out of PMDG is because there's a constant battle about it: PMDG should be more vocal - so they offer more information. It's met with: PMDG should be more transparent with us and provide release dates - so they provide timeframes. It's met with: PMDG shouldn't say anything at all about dates if they're not going to meet them - so they provide less information. It's met with: PMDG should be more vocal - rinse...repeat.
