I am having difficulty in selecting a destination waypoint from my active flight plan using the direct-to-waypoint function.

 

From my GPS500 on the first NAV page, I press the Direct-To button

Using the large knob, I highlight the FPL field, which has the 1st waypoint of my flight plan in it ... which in this case is the departure airport

Using the small knob, I am able to select the waypoint from the list of waypoints in my flight plan that I wish to fly direct to.

With that point highlighted and blinking, I press the ENT button

 

Nothing happens. The FPL field reverts back to the initial waypoint .... the departure airport.

 

Is this feature not supported with the FSX version of the GPS500? Am I doing something wrong?

 

Go to the FPL page.

 

Scroll down to the leg you want to fly.

 

Press the Menu button.

Today I tested the steps you used (actually for a real Garmin not default FSX Garmin) "Direct To" using the RealityXP Garmin 530WAAS for FSX.

It works just fine.
