July 20, 201411 yr Hi all Does anyone know how to get rid of this magenta line that is coming out from the destination airport? Is this normal? Thanks Ryan
July 20, 201411 yr I know what it is, happened to me the other night when selecting a SID that has VECTORS in it. don't know iif its normal, never seen this before.
July 20, 201411 yr Ya I just don't know if its supposed to be like that, I don't recall this before the SP, I think anyways, I'm sure an expert will chime in soon with a more detailed answer
July 20, 201411 yr Commercial Member This isn't a problem - the FMC doesn't know how long you'll be on that VECTORS course so it draws it out a very long ways on the ND. (I think 650nm is the actual figure it uses) Real airplane does the exact same thing - this has been in there since release last year. NGX does the exact same thing too. July 20, 201411 yr Commercial Member Gents- You can create a similar line for yourself if you would like to have an easy visual representation of an assigned course to intercept or the runway centerline from the final approach fix... When you enter a DIRECTO, watch the lower right of the FMS screen... you can enter a course there to use as the intercept. You can then updated it directly in the LEGS page... Try it- it makes visualization of the final approach course VERY easy when you are being vectored by ATC... Robert S. July 20, 201411 yr I use that function in the 737 and 777. It reminds me of a PVOR line (sorry if that's not the right term). Using RC4 it helps me visualize the final when on vectors which you always are with RC4. Sean Green
