July 22, 201411 yr With the growing excitement after the release of PMDG 777-300.....and SP1, It has been reported that many pilots are currently flying to bad weathers and looking for bad weathers. Admit it, it is good to see the weather radar and watching the PMDG 777-300/200 through them clouds...huh ? Thanks, Regis Regis Biassala
July 22, 201411 yr The "bells and whistles" when approaching a windshear are even more impressive ... On another sidenote, I had never seen so many B777 screenshots and videos uploaded to the ORBX(!) forums as during the past few days after release of SP1 and the -300. What happened to AVSIM
July 22, 201411 yr But that's also thanks to Hifitech and that amazing ASN! Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
July 22, 201411 yr The "bells and whistles" when approaching a windshear are even more impressive ... One can only dream Ollie My fleet is SP1 equipped, but without weather radar since I don't have ASN. I may decide to switch over from OPUS at some point. Maybe I can just leave TERRAIN on the whole flight and pretend it's weather radar (that is until I gain too much altitude) :p0805: Chris Sunseri
July 22, 201411 yr A much appreciated tip, Chris: Just switch on terrain on ND and pretend wx radar is in mapping mode!!! The windshear depiction even overlays terrain on ND, when the EGPWS is triggered - while it is impossible to activate them both at the same time manually. Chris, have you tried the time-limited ASN demo yet? What happened to AVSIM
July 22, 201411 yr Chris, have you tried the time-limited ASN demo yet? I haven't yet, but I have a feeling before the year is finished I'll pull the trigger Chris Sunseri
July 22, 201411 yr I made the switch from REX to ASN and I haven't regretted it for an instant. For one thing, it was getting to be nearly impossible to keep up with the various versions of REX. (To be completely honest, however, I do use the cloud/sky/water themes from REX.) But I made the switch a couple of months ago when iFly started supporting ASN's weather information for their new radar. And now that the 777 versions support it as well as automatic loading of winds aloft, I couldn't be happier. Yes, it's a bit pricey. But well worth it IMHO. Stuart Ball
