August 6, 201411 yr ....Cut and paste your fsx.cfg file to a safe place, run FSX, install the Fiber utility, and then test. Jim, This is exactly what I did a couple of weeks ago. The only manual tweaks in my otherwise default fsx.cfg is HIGHMEM and TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_TREES_PER_CELL. My FSX is running smooth everywhere...haven't looked back so far. I would recommend anyone using Fiber to at least try this. My MSFS 2020 repaints: Flightsim.to - Profile of HStreet Working on MSFS 2024 versions.
August 6, 201411 yr Hi Bert, Well arrived at 9 through adjusting until I got the smoothness that works. Your right that FFTF can go from 33 to 02 and did try other settings. It is just a case I forgot that I had placed that line in the cfg and then installed FIbre....now the odd thing was the demo seemed to work well....or my perception of it did so purchased the programme installed it and it was just terrible. I only fly tubes in and out of payware airports with AI at 60% and weather by ASN so I need high frames anything under 25 and it stutters badly, without FIbre it is more steady between 27 /30 and mid twenties in heavy cloud. With FIbre installed taxing was a nightmare...very bad stuttering without just the usual stuttering that we all get on the turns.. Hence I wondered about removing my entry and retrying I may do, but still yet to be convinced for a heavy flyer it adds anything. Cheers and thanks
August 6, 201411 yr It is just a case I forgot that I had placed that line in the cfg and then installed FIbre Your FSX.cfg is totally messed up. You don't need to add a single line to the cfg file. The problem is not with FFTF, but lies elsewhere, no mention of where though.
August 7, 201411 yr Jim, Do not think it is messed up, only have Highmem and Preload as entries along with FFTF and BP at zero. FFTF makes it very smooth with the settling I have without it varies the FPS too much hence why I have it in my cfg...works for me... fIbre did not make a difference as I said before it made stutters worse, but may well give it another go on a clean cfg Thanks
