Not a big thing, but I've noticed that in the area where we see "apu running, no smoking etc" the symbol FMC is showing up on the 300.

 

Is there some significance to this that I've somehow overlooked?

Yep.

 

The FMC is saying "pay attention to me."  There's likely some message in the scratchpad of the CDU, which users for whatever reason instinctually clear before reading.  These are usually associated with data comm messages: PERF INIT, WIND DATA, DES FORECAST, or ALTN LIST uplinks.

 

If you cleared it before reading it, go to the page you think it's on, or have a look at the FMC COMM page, which will list all pending items.

If "FMC" is showing up, it means there is a message on the FMC for you to see. 

 

Requesting most kinds of data will result in the "FMC" message when it is uploaded.

I figured that the answer was something I didn't read, overlooked or just plain didn't understand.

 

Now that you two have confirmed that it was the last one, I'll give it a go.

It takes some time for your latest post to appear in 'My Content' (that is your content ), but it's immediately visible in the topic list if you hit 'View New Content'.
