Saving Fsx For Reinstall

Featured Replies

After some problems here with some nice help I guess I'll need to remove and install my FSX again.

But to minimize the time without FSX I want to know what's the best way to "restore" FSX? What are important files I could save and then only copy back? How should I remove everything best? And how should I install everything again (ORBX Global,Scener like Aerosoft,...)

I hate doing that >:(

Greetings Eddi

You might want to back up your "\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX" and "\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files" folders, just in case. When it comes to the FSX installation folder I don't think there's anything that you can actually benefit from saving as most add-ons, at least the payware stuff, won't work unless reinstalled properly. However it may be wise to save your aircraft folders somewhere in case you have any personalized .cfg files. Other than that I'd say only reinstall thing as you need them.

Also, I would recommend that you take the opportunity to do a complete reinstall of Windows while you're at it, unless you have done so recently.
