If I remember correctly, you download the files and then as part of the install process the dialogue windows open to allow you to purchase.

Good choice IMO.

I use UTX+GEX USA and UTX+GEX EU and can say that the latter is much more detailed than FTX OpenLC EU.

The footprint of OpenLC EU is larger though.

My actual layer sequence (starting from top):

UTX+GEX EU

UTX+GEX USA

FTX OpenLC EU (1-10)

FTX OpenLC North America (1)

FTX Global Base+Vector

FSX standard world scenery

I am very happy with that. The only thing I can not recommend are the FTX patches "Global 120" and "Vector 115", because they caused periodic freezes (2/3 second) on my PC. I tried it twice...

Heya Claus,

From what I understand, you have mutually exclusive add-ons in your list. GEX is a texture product, and would overwrite/supersede all textures in OpenLC EU and Global. UTX is a vector product, and would overwrite/supersede any FTX Vector assignments.

Your combination would "work", but not sure if it is what you expect to see!

Your combination would "work", but not sure if it is what you expect to see!

I am aware of "texture issues are likewise" in my configuration, especially regarding the look of FTX Global, but the textures used/depicted are o.k. for me.

I (edit: mostly) use Global+Vector for better shore lines (and textures) on the FSX standard world scenery, and OpenLC EU just as the "undercover" footprint upscale of UTX+GEX EU.

So the sequence of layers does the trick for me and as of today I am very satisfied with the look and the performance.

For sure this combination can not be a recommendation for scenery and texture purists...
