October 6, 201411 yr The airport is very well done. But being the spoiled simmers we are, it only includes the airport area. With so many developers including the scenery around the airport these days, default FSX Moscow is sad and needs the treatment I think. (think Fly Tampa Dubai/Kai Tak, PacSim RPLL, Taxi2Gate MMMX and Aerosoft Thessolinki for a few examples of airport and surrounding area) This airport is priced right too. (If you're not in a hurry, keep in mind that DD always has sales, so you might want to wait to pick it up then) Al Stiff
October 6, 201411 yr I agree with the previous post. Sheremetyevo is a good product and value for money. Except for the three things mentioned below which I treat as matters of interest, rather than of complaint, I have had no problems with it. That said, I admit I am partial to DD airports (I have most of them) but acknowledge that reviews for the FSX and FS9 versions of Sheremetyevo on Simmarket have been somewhat evenly divided between praise and criticism, as have postings on the DD Forum. Two things I noticed when using the AirTrike to explore the airport when I first installed it - both of which I can live with. One was that broken lines (mainly white ones) painted on accessways and the apron/tarmac flickered when seen at an angle from over 1000ft altitude. The other is that when the AirTrike (or any type of plane) is off the ground an ATIS message is broadcast verbally and in a green banner across the top of the monitor screen. The problem is that it is from Domodedovo Airport (which is about 37 miles away) and not from Sheremetyevo. Both airports have different ATIS frequencies, one being 128.3 and the other being 125.125 . I wonder whether this is because I also have the other payware Moscow airport, MDesign's Domodedovo, which is about 3 euros different in price and of about the same quality (as I have experienced it). A couple of weeks ago, I was using the PMDG 737 NGX to fly between the airports. I was getting OOMs on final approach to Sheremetyevo from Domodedovo but not going the other way. I don't know which airport product may have been responsible for that.
