September 6, 201411 yr Hi Thinking about trying out Prepar3D, so I have a couple of questions. Around how many GB should i have for an Prepar3d installation, with: FTX global FTX NA UTX EU UT2 PMDG 737, J41 Dont take the list to serious, i just need som pointer on a "usual" installation. Is EZdok compatible? Is any other software a must-have for Prepar? Thank you
September 6, 201411 yr Commercial Member As large as you can afford - I would go with a 512SSD or 1 TB SSD. Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!) Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11), EVGA 1300W PSUNetgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displaysFull array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.
September 6, 201411 yr Why SSD? There is huge difference in price between SSD and HD. Is it really worth? What advantage gives you SSD except faster 1st loading? Frank
September 6, 201411 yr Author Hi and thanks But the question was because i need to know if i have the space needed, otherwise i need to buy on more disk. So just an estimate on how much an avarage installation takes in GB, thank you. Thomas
September 6, 201411 yr Starting to install V2.3. Already on the SSD : P3D + Orbx (NCA + SAK + NRM +CRM +PNW +AU + a couple of airports) + 3 A2A aircraft = 63 Gb. PFJ will bring some more. Mesh (Ultimate Global) is outside P3D : Americas + Asia +Oceania = 64 Gb , with Europe and Africa should be around 100 Gb I got a new dedicated 500 Gb SSD and it fills up fast. Shouldn't be too far from 200 GB soon.
