  1. Hello Rob, can you tell what exactly sky color set and which addon you use (day, dusk, dawn)?
  2. Zgredd replied to Zgredd's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
Thank you guys! As for quality - I had 2x TQs too In the other hand, no problems with X52, Yoke (except clock LCD), Rudder pedals and Cessna pedals.
  3. Can someone confirm if it's working with P3D2.4? I'm considering buying it and heard some negative opinions.
  4. Rob what about performance with this new fx file? Since 2.3 i have significant fps drop with clouds. With 2.0-2.2 I had almost none fps hit, even with hard weahter.

This is great tip for day flying, but it ruins P3D lovely dark nights :(
  6. You need to edit sky colour bitmaps in P3Dv2/texture.
  7. I have native 1920x1200. With DSR x2 you will not have sharp font in the cockpit. Only x4 makes a difference. As for FPS - have you tried with volumetric fog condition + heavie aircraft like PMDG + busy airport?
  8. I even don't use SGSS as I have found it is FPS killer with volumetric fog weather ^^
  9. I have installed Precipit without EMT. Just installed under FSX (first, renamed original effects and texture folders), then copied files into P3D. Thank you!
  10. OK let me share some thoughts after 2 hours of testing. 1. I have wormhole too, but it's less noticeable than with default effects. It is well seen with heavie precipitation, big speed and when is dark outside (night is still a nightmare). I think the wormwhole will be always - it's just FSX engine and it seems to be some unbreakable limitation. 2. Same with snow speed. It seems impossible to make global effect with slow "dancing" snowflakes. However... snow from OldProp is incomparable to default one! There is really huge step forward! I really like it! 3. Contrails and wingtips- I don't know how it is in FSX, but in P3D they are barely noticeable at day time with bright sky. Even from close distance, I can't see contrails with AI planes. I can only spot them at dusk/dawn and very well at night. They are also very short. They are eye candy - yes. The best contrails I have ever seen. But forget to trace ### AI and Vatsim traffic. I think the problem is with performance, but if P3D native version is as short as FSX, I will be forced to give it up and use freeware 50nm long. Overall this is good "start" version of this addon and it would be nice to make some improvements. Contrails visibility is my question to developer. Now, to make snow even more subtle and wormhole effect less painful I used tweak described here: http://www.prepar3d.com/forum-5/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=4199 And for me it works very well with PrecipitFX. Winter is coming! Im so happy
  11. Ad.1 - OK! You have me now Ad. 2 - Great!!!
  12. Please full size screenshots. When I resize I can show you not worse results even without any AA OK guys. Let's have some fun. What is all about? Look at following screens: Every 1st screen is my native 1080p, 2nd is DSR x1.5 +smoothness 10%. Judge this I don't see any revelation. Just blurry textures. It looks nice as for trees, stars at night and street lights bloom. But ground textures are worse. Same with VC fonts. It was looking better when I set x4 and no smoothness, but x4 drained my FPS about 15-20 with PMDG NGX + heavie weather + heavie city/airport.
  13. Looks nice. My questions: 1. What about contrails on VATSIM? 2. Have you considered adding some new environment effects in the future, like new sun, wet/frozen runway (something like Aerosoft AES effect for all runways)?
  14. I think you are wrong. I did many shots to compare them. As exodus1977, I don't see almost any difference. Could somebody take this vaseline off from my glasses, please!!!
  15. Yes I agree the world looks somehow more realistic and eye candy. But still... eye devastator This is my main reason I gave DSR up. With x1.2 and smooth 23% it was still too blurry for me to have relaxing flying time.
  16. I really don't get it how you can look at 33% smoothness. It just hurts my eyes. I feel like in glasses with overcorrection lol.
  17. Ye ye, just x2 didn't worked, x4 about 15-20 fps drop when in fog weather, NGX and busy airport and "smooth" looks terribly. I've got 24'' LCD and in 1080p P3D looks well enough to lose another FPS.
  18. Just gave DSR up after 2 hours of testing
  19. This sounds very promising to me! And what about VATSIM contrails? It's very important to me (and not only to me I think) to have contrails working with vatsim pilots. I think it's pretty easy to make them working as I had in the past some free contrail fx file which works with VATSIM online users and made contrails 50nm long.
  20. Do we need uninstall P3D before drivers install?
  21. As for contrails - how long they are and - what is more important to me - are they work with AI planes and on VATSIM?
  22. Same problem with ASN.
