September 11, 201411 yr Hey there! I just made the switch from '04 to FSX, and I must say I love it. I really want to be able to record my landing, interesting moments, etc. Unfortunately, FSX's built in "Flight Recorder" often misses all the details such as flap positions, etc. and makes for a very unrealistic playback. I use Active Camera, and it's rather difficult to record a wingview and land the plane at the same time. If anyone knows of a good, and preferably free, flight recorder add-on thingamajig, I'd be greatly appreciative!
September 11, 201411 yr I believe FS Recorder is only viewable inside FSX, if you want to create an actual video you will need a program like FRAPS and and editing program. Windows Movie Maker is a free basic editor that comes with windows, but its very limited. Jay
September 11, 201411 yr Best feature of FSRecorder is you can replay back in render mode. It will render frame by frame into a video file so your landings will be smooth as silk even if your framerates are very low and stutters are present. Mark CYYZ
