Crash after installing Pro Atc X - API.DLL

The reason for not changing my driver before is that people have said dont change unless your getting issues.

Well, you certainly are having a lot of issues now! Fingers crossed.

Ok, done a 7 hour flight that was crashing previously without pro atc x and was fine.

id reinstalled all the c++ from the other years as per the ctd guide.

This was on a fresh cfg with only widescreen=true and high memfix in the cfg.

Tried with pro atc x and 2 hours on returning to the screen I moved the tophat, thr view started panning and then locked.

Exactly the same as before with no fsx crash log. fsx was not responding and pro atc x continued in the background along with activesky.

Any last ideas before I seriously think of ditching pro atc x or reinstalling windows?

Thanks

Ollie

What drivers are you using for your controller? Did I read it right that after you moved the tophat, the view started panning and then locked. Are you using the FSUIPC utility to run your controller? Or, are you using the software that came with the controller? You should use the software drivers that came with the controller. Also check to make sure you have the latest update for your controller.

If your problem is fixed by not running ProATC-X but crashes when you use ProATC-X, then that means there is something wrong with your installation of ProATC-X. Have you asked on the ProATC-X support forum?

The uiautomationcore.dll fixes menu crashes after clicking on the menu or right clicking over 19 times repeatedly. Why are you doing that?

ProATC-X uses additional system resources and simconnect to communicate with your sim. This is the same when you load a highly detailed commercial aircraft or addon scenery. If you have high fsx settings or display driver settings, this might cause the sim to freeze up and shutdown. However, you now indicate the crash occurs when you move the top hat of your controller. ProATC-X does not use the controller for its operation.

Without an error message it is going to be very difficult to investigate and find a resolution to your problem. I guess there was nothing in your event viewer too. The AVSIM CTD Guide tells you how to look at the Event Viewer to troubleshoot. It records every event that occurs on your system when you start it up every day. Some are easy to figure out, some require expert advice but this is why Microsoft put this feature into Windows so that you could investigate your problem and try to fix it yourself.

I wish there was something that could be done to fix your problem. I do know there are a lot of problems with controllers and the software drivers. FSX is an old game but most drivers are compatible.

So 10 flights with no crash after trying many things but affinity mask = 14 has done it. Could it have been my first core was just too overloaded on the processor?
