September 26, 201411 yr I really only fly amphibians for sea plane applications. I can move on dry land, so this is not a biggie, but I am curious. At least some of the time, at docks, or particularly under a partial hanger my bird drifts away with the current or wind. Is there a virtual command of any kind to secure to a dock when available. I tried setting the brake thinking that might serve the purpose, but sometimes the aircraft still drifts. Thanks: RTH
September 26, 201411 yr Administrators It would be nice to have something like "Dropable Object=anchor". This might take some further investigation. * Looked around at different threads here and at Flightsim.com. Everyone said that they will drift until they hit something, except for 1 guy who thinks that when the engine is off they don't go anywhere. "Yeah, right Jim!" September 26, 201411 yr The only way I know of is to hit the "P" command (Pause). It's a pain, I know because you lose your sounds (if there are any), etc. but if there's any sort of wind at all, that's the only way I know of to keep from driving through the dock or drifting out to sea. Maybe someone else knows of a way, in which case I'd be interested as well.
September 26, 201411 yr Slew mode will stop the drift and let time keep passing by. regards, Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
September 27, 201411 yr Author Well, I have found possibly one solution. I have not really tested this under all conditions yet, Unfortunately, this is specific to only one choice in aircraft, although there may be others. I have not checked out all the other applicable birds yet. With Stephen Grant's Beavers, pressing the "/" Key ties the aircraft down. Silly as it sounds, it does the same thing with the anchors in the water. I don't know for sure that it holds yet under all conditions. I am willing to bet that it will though, because it insets protection for the floats against the dock. Happy flying: RTH
September 29, 201411 yr Commercial Member Another one; I'm pretty sure the A2A Cub with Accusim lets you 'tie' down the aircraft so that it doesn't float away. If I recall, it also has a 'paddle' option that lets you move around in the water without starting the plane. Jim Stewart Milviz Person.
