i often have problems with CTD in FSX lately, I now ask myself whether it might have something to do with the Acceleration Pack !?

FSX I istalliert for "The Bibel". So after installation Flusi start the PC reboot and then ACC etc. Pack it ...

 
I get after a fresh FSX installation with quite a few add-ons unfortunately every now and then CTD in flight.

 
The error messages are most module: G2D.DLL or module: unknown


The only thing I have on it after FSX installation is UTX, GEX and the NGX


Is there any recommendation which may be observed such errors in connection with the Acc Pack frequent and may be better to install from the base FSX only with Sp1 and SP2?

I doubt there is a problem with Acceleration. If there were, we would have found a fix for it back in 2007.

 

Here's what the AVSIM CTD Guide says about the G2D.dll -

 

G2D.dll - The g2d.dll is indicated as the faulting module in the crash report. This module handles plain text messages, like the frame rate counter and those other plain text messages you see periodically while running FSX and the plain text words in the FSX Menu, like the words Options, View, etc. There may be something corrupted in your dll.xml which loads menu items. It has been fixed by rebuilding the FSX.cfg (deleting or renaming the FSX.cfg and then restarting FSX). Some others have fixed this problem by uninstalling/reinstalling the video card drivers or going back to a previous version.

 

A bad tweak in the FSX.cfg may be causing the problem too. For instance, the BufferPool tweaks causes a lot of instability if not properly employed. This is why we recommend rebuilding your fsx.cfg so as to eliminate this possibility.

 

High settings will cause CTD's too.

I have newly set up my system a few days ago and also completely reinstall FSX. I have installed the necessary addons and unfortunately I get the defects that the FSX crashes again and again:

Nice system with the Titan video card. You got the g2d.dll faulting module again and that indicates to me you have a tweak in your fsx.cfg that the Titan video card does not like. I suspect the Affinity Mask and/or Bufferpool tweaks. When you got your new system and reinstalled FSX, did you use the same config that you had in your previous system? You are not suppose to do that.

 

Make sure you try moving your dll.xml over to another temporary folder and running fsx again. A module in the dll.xml may not have been installed properly.

Jim, link him to the Avsim Guide, it explains the bufferpools and the like very nicely. I find that guide to be one of the safest and most logical.

None of the tweaks are useful. You already have a very powerful system. Why not try the AVSIM FSX Configuration Guide? I do not use tweaks for my system (but still need the highmemfix=1 fix). The only tweaks I have are changing the LOD_Radius to 6.5 which makes for better graphics in a larger radius, and Texture_Max_Load=2048. I have had it at 4096 but both settings are High Definition and I really see little difference in graphics quality. The 1024 setting is not High Definition. Your Titan card would have a blast with HD! I think you and many others are getting caught up in what was good a couple of years ago before Sandy Bridge and the technology today. IMHO you don't need the tweaks anymore to enhance the graphics or the performance. It's already there with the latest chipsets and video cards. Why are you trying to downsize your performance with a tweak made for older computer systems?
