October 7, 201411 yr Good day all. I've been trying to reduce bloom effect and so far not much progress. It started after installing DX10 payware version. In many airports RWY lights too bright and it looks almost solid strip of lights. Also I have flashing blue taxiway lights at some airports. I tried to move sliders in Lights tab but no difference. Bloom effect enabled in FSX. Another problem. I see road lights and sometimes runway lights are elevated way off the surface. Sometimes road lights cover clouds  I use FTX Global lights tool and REX 4 texture architect for lights. Not sure where do I have to do more tweaks. Lights in REX and FTX are set to small values. Thank you. October 7, 201411 yr Commercial Member For blue taxiway lights that turn off and on when you change viewing angle you need to install a light field about pg 46 or 47. Lights and autogen at wrong height can be caused by mesh issue or if you change location inside FSX without going back to Free Flight screen. Many FTX lights are raided up though they are meant to be street lights. Bloom is adjusted in the Bloom Dialog. If it doesn't seem to work turn off bloom in fsx and see what the difference is. October 8, 201411 yr Author Flashing taxiway lights occur in Aerosoft EDDF airport. Where do I have to drop LighField.bgl file then- into FSX/Scenery or FSX/Addon Scenery/Scenery? October 8, 201411 yr Commercial Member You need to extract the EDDF_LightField.Bgl and place it anywhere where it gets loaded - the best place is probably the EDDF airport scenery directory itself My FSX Analysis Blog
October 9, 201411 yr Author I extracted whole folder bgl folder to my desktop, copied and pasted EDDF file into EDDF scenery folder. It helped a bit. Lights are not flashing. What is happening now is blue and green center line lights are turning on along the path of flight, like rolling ball. October 9, 201411 yr Not sure if that is actually a possibility, but could it be that the lights are simply "too small" to be displayed? Florian
October 9, 201411 yr Commercial Member As far as I can see that's how it behaves in dx9 as well. My FSX Analysis Blog
October 9, 201411 yr Author Not sure if that is actually a possibility, but could it be that the lights are simply "too small" to be displayed? OK, I will try to increase lights size. Will see it it helps. October 13, 201411 yr Author Hello back. I figured that not all airports have flashing lights issues, bad one was EDDF and LFPG. Placing bgl file fixed most of issues. Looks pretty normal now. One of the reason of large and too bright lights was my triple monitor set with Nvidia surround. I found lights preset in REX 4 direct for trippleHeadtogo and it worked for me. I used smaller size RWY and taxi lights look much better. I did same in FTX flights and street lights look almost normal too. Thx for help.
