Configuring an "Enhanced C&D" state (chocked wheels, etc)

Featured Replies

I enjoy flying the PMDG 737NGX from it's cold and dark panel state.

It's petty, but I find it kinda inconvenient to go the the FMS panel to set chocks, connect the ground power and air conditioning unit and open doors prior to ground services calling.

Is it possible to configure the aircraft to always load up in this enhanced state?

If you set everything like it you want it and save the flight and load that flight again it should be the way you left it. The only thing it won't save is the jetway being attached. Also, I think in the CDU under options there is different panel states you can have it load such as cold/dark, short turn, long turn, and last panel state.

Better to save this as a new panel state not a flight. Make it the default state. Then every time you load the NGX in free flight, at any airport, it will be in this state.

Thanks folks ...

So, if I am understanding properly, in the CDU adjust all my settings ... set cold and dark panel state, connect air, connect GPU, open whatever doors and save that as a uniquely named "panel state". Then, like I did with the PMDG provided cold'n'dark default panel state, use the newly created configuration as my startup default?

Yes.

Perfect! Thanks folks!

How do you save a "powered off" panel state with no GPU, no APU, everything off and shut down for the night?

As far as I know, you can't save a panel state when the FMC is turned off. How could you go about it?

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

Westair, you asked the exact question I was going to ask next. For me to have saved this new panel state, as a minimum the battery had to be on to power the CDU. Now, the newly saved panel state loads up with the battery on. Not exactly what I wanted. How do we save an altered cold and dark state when a power source was used to save the profile. Need to save with no active power source.

Hold down the MENU key for a few seconds and it'll sidestep the power source issue.

Intro manual stuff guys

(I wonder what kind of info they bother putting in there...must be useless, eh?)

Manual?

Precision Manuals Development Group makes planes, not manuals. Duh, Kyle.
