Gray-out or White-out glare with bloom enabled

Featured Replies

I've been getting this rather unsightly whole-screen gray-out with bloom enabled. I'm using a modded suneffect.cfg as well as having "ShowLensFlare=TRUE" enabled in my cameras.cfg. It works great when bloom is disabled, with the flare from the sun adding to the cockpit embiance. However, with bloom effects enabled, the whole screen turns gray when the view is directed towards the sun.

If I can figure out how to upload a screen shot, I'll demonstrate.

Any tips?

EDIT: this gray-out effect is present with and without sun glare effects, Showlensflare=FALSE, etc. It happens always however, when the bloom effects are enabled.

Looks like I'm not the only one that has found this effect:

What gets me, is people actually like it!?

It appears to be a hidden DX10 feature that has been enabled by recent Nvidia drivers.

Any workaround to disable it Steve? it's so annoying that I had to roll back my drivers to avoid it!

I've also had to roll back (driver version 332.21 is a safe one for me) to get rid of that abomination... I've experimented with nVidia Inspector, but no settings are available to disable it...

Confirmed here- 332.21 is still safe without that nasty effect.
