October 14, 201411 yr Hi. I have FSX and Prepar3d installed on my PC. The FSX addons are already registered when installed. If I try to install into prepar3d, the addon automatically finds the FSX install. How do I install in both sims?
October 14, 201411 yr Moderator Contact the developer to see if there is a dedicated P3D installer available. If the product is supported for P3D you can also use the Estonian Migrator Tool to install into P3D If product is NOT supported, best to forget about it. October 14, 201411 yr I install them using the Estonia Migration Tool on P3D v2.2.Some times even with the tool I had to show them the path to P3D. Not sure if it works on P3Dv2.4
October 14, 201411 yr During installation of your addon, a window appears showing: "nameofaddon" will be installed in the following directory C:\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator X Right next to this here is usually a small white box with three periods inside of it and then the word "browse". I can't remember if you click the little white box, or the word "Browse", but when you do, another window will open showing all the drives, directories on your computer. Just click til you get the p3d folder. It is probably: Computer\C:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3d V2 When you have Prepar3d highlighted, close that window and the install path should be correct hope this helps Lyn the trucker FSX - XP11 - MSFS Ryzen 5900x - Asus X570 VIII Hero - RTX 4090 - G.SKILL Trident 32 GB DDR4 - WD SN750 M2 1TB + Samsung SSD 250GB - HP Reverb G2 - Win 10/64
October 15, 201411 yr Author Hi I know how to manually install addons, but whats confusing me, is if the addon is already installed in FSX. when the addon installer is opened, it detects the installed files in the registry and asks if you want to uninstall. Do I go ahead and ignore this and go for a "reinstall?" THis way I could have the same addon installed in both sims. Hope you understand my confusion?
October 15, 201411 yr This is a case per case process. Check for a specific scenery or aircraft, There's no one size fits all. For instance, for my A2A aircraft, the installer ask me whether i want to install into FSX and instead I choose to point to the P3D folder where I put a dummy fsx.exe. For Sibwings, same process but one has to add a small .xml module that you write yourself. For OrbX sceneries, there is a dedicated installer which gives you the choice. Never had the case when the installer wants to reinstall. I've FSX and P3D in the computer.
