October 25, 201411 yr Hi all, a question I don't even know how to ask properly: how can I remove the FSX key binding for the '^' key, on a German keyboard (key is to the left of the '1' key on the main key block)? When I assign something to that key in FSX it calls it 'ZIRKUMFLEX', and it is bound to TOGGLE_MOUSE_LOOK by default - but I cannot find that mapping anywhere, not even in the controls.xml file - any chance to get rid of that?
October 26, 201411 yr Just pick an empty spot in the list if available commands and assign the key to this one. Then you know where it is. After that, you just press the delete button on the FSX interface, something like delete key assignment. This should clear any key bindings.
October 27, 201411 yr Author Thanks for the quick reply, but that's not it - there's still that stupid mouse-look-toggle binding associated with that key. Built-in/hard-coded? Any chance around that?
October 27, 201411 yr CoolP, I had the same thing happen to me when trying to assign the Main Panel and Secondary Button keys or joystick. If I chose Joystick button 3 and checked the 'Do action when key....', I'd end up getting a key or joystick button that does not function or carry out its assignment because that 3 had a little up-pointing arrowhead, not found anywhere on a UK keyboard. Only if I un-check that 'Do action when key........does the assignment work correctly. Maybe this is what the OP is experiencing? Rick Almeida
October 30, 201411 yr Bit of a mystery it seems. Have to check that myself on the next sim run. Can't recall any real mouse look ability in FSX other than with using the space bar. As a generic thought, can you rule out other addons/joystick/yoke/tools maybe picking up that key press? Or FSUIPC via a plane specific profile?
October 30, 201411 yr Author No, nothing in FSUIPC (at least, nothing that I put there - I'll re-check). There's actually two key assigned to mouse-look according to controls.xml, unfortunately neither one is the one that's bugging me...
October 30, 201411 yr Don't have FSUIPC full version, so cannot see the link to it causing this, CoolP Rick Almeida
