Is it possible to request pattern practice?

Featured Replies

I would like to request to take off and do touch and gos in the pattern for practice. I don't see an option to request this in the grammar screen. Is it possible in the current version? Will it be added in a future version?

It works...I don't remember the phraseology.  It does keep asking you to climb to 1000 AGL before making your turn.  Wish it didn't do that...no need for it (you're required to climb to 700 by rules but the only time a controller would ask for a climb on upwind would be noise abatement.  But it does work well.

Imagio,

It's part of the Takeoff request to Tower.  Try something like:

"<CallSign> ready for takeoff runway 3 5 left to remain in pattern."

There are a couple of other options at the end of the TakeoffRequest call in the Grammar Helper.

Hope this helps,

Dave

Thanks for pointing it out!

Shouldn't I be able to communicate my intention to do pattern work to ground/clearance before I taxi?

Real world, you could (ground would annotate your flight strip or pass the info to tower) but you'd more than likely make the same request to the tower.
